Care Guide

At de Savary London, each of our jackets and coats are crafted from high quality fabrics. For best care to preserve texture, softness and longevity of these delicate fabrics, it’s essential to follow our care recommendations.

Suede care

Suede is a finely crafted luxury material which will last a
lifetime however it may change slightly in colour through wear adding to its beauty & charm. That being said, it does require more care than other materials in your outerwear wardrobe.

Your de Savary London suede piece will arrive without any suede care applied therefore we leave it up to you as its new owner to apply a suede protector, this is something we highly recommend!

As the saying goes ‘Prevention is better than the cure’.

We recommend applying a protective spray before wearing any suede item. Follow the instructions which includes a patch test and leaving your suede item 24 hours after treatment before wearing.

  • Exposure to water should be avoided. If the suede does get wet we recommend immediately wiping off the water with a dry cloth.

  • If exposed to water this can darken the suede temporarily & should return to the original colour after drying. Once dried, we recommend brushing gently with a suede brush.

  • It is best to avoid contact with light coloured clothing against the suede as the dye from the leather can transfer.

  • Never put stickers on your de Savary London coat.

  • Keep away from intense or direct heat.

  • Store in a cool & dry location, ideally in your de Savary London coat bag.

  • Do not dry clean
